Business Writing Workshop May 10th, 2005
May 10, 2005 - May 10, 2005
Our Ten Common Writing Mistakes Workshop will help you identify common writing errors that occur in business writing and help you improve your writing skills by avoiding frequent word usage and sentence structure mistakes. Whether you're writing a letter or memo, a manual or tutorial, a speech or an email, you will benefit from this workshop.
According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, writing and communication skills ranked seventh as the qualities most valued by employers. Of those surveyed, 40% clearly emphasized this particular skill set. A recent U.S. study shows 33% of workers are unable to properly carry out the communication tasks required by their jobs. While this isn't a Canadian statistic, it still emphasizes the need for good communicators in the business world.
Join us and improve your workplace communication skills. Proceeds from the workshop will be used to develop and support our student writing competition. For InfoTech members only, the workshop fees are $40.00 (regular price is $70.00). Registration Deadline: April 25, 2005.
Time and Place
May 10, 2005 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Delta Edmonton South Hotel and Conference Centre in the Red Deer Room.
